Chief Executive Officer/President

David R. Milich, Ph.D.

Dr. Milich is a VRISD founder and currently serves as President/CEO and Chairman of the Board. His career in the biomedical research field spans 3 decades and includes 150+ peer reviewed publications and cumulative extramural awards in excess of 20 million dollars. He is regarded as an international expert in the field of HBV immunology, having made several seminal contributions to this research area.

Chief Administrative Officer

Richard E. Brandt, C.R.A.

Richard Brandt holds the position of Chief Administrative Officer. His career spans 20+ years in grant administration. Previous to joining VRISD, Mr. Brandt served in grant administration at The Burnham Institute and most recently at Michigan State University.

Scientific Director

Michael McClelland, Ph.D.

Dr. McClelland joined VRISD in 2009. He has over 200 peer reviewed publications in infectious disease and cancer. His work has been cited by others over 10,000 times in scientific publications.
